IDEMIA Smart Card Troubleshooting

If you are getting a message that says your SmartCard Certificate cannot be found
follow the instructions below to download and install the IDEMIA SmartCard Driver to allow Windows to read the card.


    Please note: Administrator Rights are required to perform the steps below.
    If you are on a SRS Computer, open Software Center, search for IDEMIA, select the IDEMIA Smart Card Minidriver package then click install.

    IDEMIA SmartCard Driver MSI Installer (Preferred Method):

  1. Download the IDEMIA MSI installer: (Windows Computers Only)

  2. Download the "Minidriver files."
  3. Save the file to a location you can easily find.
  4. Open or UnZip the "CivMinidriver-#.#.#.zip" file. (Version numbers will change.)
  5. Run the CivMinidriver msi file.(most PCs are 64-bit)(Approve Security prompts and enter the Administrator password for YOUR COMPUTER if one exists.)
  6. Accept the EULA and click Install.
  7. Click next when prompted and Finish.
  8. Remove your Smart Card.
  9. Wait 5 seconds.
  10. Insert your Smart Card.
  11. Delete the CivMinidriver msi file. (optional)


    IDEMIA SmartCard Driver Manual Installation:

  1. Browse to the Microsoft Update Catalog:
    Microsoft Catalog Downloads Page for Idemia Driver
  2. Download the most recent version of the "IDEMIA - SmartCard driver" for your Windows Operating System.
  3. Extract the files. (choose a location you can easily find)
  4. Right Click the "CivMinidriver.inf"
  5. Click Install.
  6. Remove your Smart Card.
  7. Wait 5 seconds.
  8. Insert your Smart Card.
  9. Delete the download and extracted files. (optional)
